Sparkling Pinot Gris

Growing Conditions

It was an early start to vintage, due to warmer and drier than average conditions. The first white grapes were picked in late January, with the last of the reds in the winery by the first week of March. Some challenging conditions, however with the hard work by both vineyard and winery teams, we saw some excellent potential from harvested fruit.

Vineyards

Two estate vineyards combine to make this Pinot Gris. One is located in the southern end of the valley and has soils with a heavier brown loam content and westerly aspect. The other is located in the north, with red soils and an easterly aspect. Both combine to produce complex fruity flavour and a rich fruit profile, while retaining a sense of delicacy and lightness.
