The Filgate range celebrates the pioneering spirit of Fanny Filgate, daughter of the founding father of Clare. As a trailblazer of the region, her bold vision left an indelible mark on the Clare community.
Riesling defines the Clare Valley, and the region's expressions of this variety have earned acclaim all over the world for their purity, vibrancy and elegance. Filgate sets out to reveal a different dimension of Riesling: a more adventurous style built on weight, texture and complexity. The 2025 release is a carefully composed blend of classically crafted, citrus-driven Riesling alongside small-batch components that bring depth and textural contrast.

Growing Conditions
It was an early start to vintage, due to warmer and drier than average conditions. The first white grapes were picked in late January, with the last of the reds in the winery by the first week of March. Some challenging conditions, however with the hard work by both vineyard and winery teams, we saw some excellent potential from harvested fruit.
Vineyard
The fruit is sourced from our own Clare Valley vineyards, showing the spectrum of flavours when blended carefully together. Vine age is 35+ years.
