2023 Clare Valley Pinot Gris

It’s delicately lifted on the nose, showing green pear, lemon pith, Gala apple and floral notes, followed by a finely flowing palate that’s linear and lively. Youthfully expressive and juicy, offering excellent drinking. At its best: now to 2028.

The flavour profile is more or less as you’d expect – fresh and fruity – but the texture helps to set it apart. It tastes of apple, lime, blackcurrant bud and florals but it was the mouthfeel, and the squeak and grip of it, that stopped me and made me notice. It’s good value.

Pretty aromas of white flowers, stone fruit, apple and bath salts. Fresh and crunchy on the palate. There's a real zip and zestiness to the flavours as well as decent length and grip.
