2019 Insider Shiraz Malbec

Tasting Notes

A traditional Clare Valley blend of Shiraz and Malbec made with enjoyment front of mind. Aromatically, the wine is a mix of pretty highlights from the Shiraz and darker black fruits that are commonly associated with Malbec. A savoury nose of spice, cured meats, cloves and purple fruits with a classic bunchy drive. A spritely wine that is light on its feet, flaunting its fruit, sinewy tannins and a savoury detail.35% whole-bunch ferment provides this wine with spice and texture. A unique twist on an old favourite.  

Growing Conditions

2019 Vintage produced fabulous wines with generous flavours, good mid palate fruit weight, lovely natural acidity and considerable depth and complexity. 

Vineyard

The fruit is sourced from a selection of our vineyards situated at the Northern end of the Clare Valley. On red loam soils that are naturally very low yielding and display outstanding intensity and varietal character. Vine ages range from approximately 10 – 30 years old.
